Riqui Puig has praised the impact Quique Setien has made since taking over from Ernesto Valverde at Barcelona.

Setien is known for his tendency to give young players a chance and Puig benefitted from that against Granada, playing the final 20 minutes of the match.

"I was always happy, especially if I played football," Puig said when asked whether he was happy with his new coach.

"Setien likes to play football and we're very happy.

"He told me to be daring, not to lose possession and to press high."

The 20-year-old won the ball to start the move that led to Messi's only goal of the game.

"There are important moments after me winning the ball, like Arturo Vidal's great backheel," Puig said.

"The team is together and we deserved it. The squad is very happy and the victory gives us a bit of a boost."

Puig is expected to stay in the first team under Setien, but he is prepared to do whatever he's asked to do.

"I will keep training like I do every year," he said.

"If they tell me that I have to go back to Barcelona B, I will do it and continue playing like I have until now."
