Barcelona forward Carles Perez celebrated his Champions League debut away at Inter with a goal and believes that youngsters at the club can follow his lead.

Fellow La Masia graduate Ansu Fati was also on the scoresheet with a winner in the 86th minute.

"We're an example for the boys at La Masia, in the sense that if you believe then you can do it," Perez explained after the match.

"Barcelona trust the people at La Masia, they can triumph."

The 21-year-old could not hide his delight at the occasion, particularly coming at such a historic stadium.

"I'm very happy with my [Champions League] debut, it's a dream to play here and to score in such a legendary ground," he said.

"The whole team congratulated me."

Despite his impressive performances, talks over a new contract remain ongoing and the Spain Under-21 international insisted that he will continue to focus on his football.

"For me, nothing changes as I will carry on as usual, by working and enjoying and taking advantage of the chances the coach gives me," he insisted.
