Former Barcelona advisor Ariedo Braida has poured cold water on any possibility that Lionel Messi could move to Inter.

Massimo Moratti, ex-president and owner of the Nerazzurri had suggested that signing the Argentine superstar wasn't merely a pipe dream for Inter.

"It's difficult for me to imagine Messi away from Barcelona," Braida told La Gazzetta dello Sport. He is the undisputed king.

"He arrived [at the club] as a child and everyone loves him. In my opinion certain things that are said, come from a place of utopia.

"In life, as in football, you can never say never, but even with some effort I cannot find any reason for his possible transfer.

"Messi is a wonderful person and, economically speaking, he earns huge sums [of money]. He and Barcelona are perfect together."

Braida did admit that he would love to see Messi alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in Serie A, as they would reignite a rivalry born in LaLiga Santander.

"It would be nice [to have Cristiano and Messi in Serie A], but in all seriousness Messi and Barcelona are like one entity," Braida went on.

"And Inter would do well to keep someone like Lautaro Martinez.

"Messi is the strongest player in the planet. He comes first and everyone else comes later.

"It has nothing to do with the others. I would swap him for anyone."
