Vidal: Dembele needs to mature and prepare better to avoid injuries
Arturo Vidal believes that Ousmane Dembele needs to show more maturity if he is to become a key player at Barcelona.
The Chilean admits he is close with the young Frenchman and feels he has the ability to achieve big things with club and country.
"I speak with [Dembele] a lot as he's a good guy, he wants to become the best.
"He arrived at Barcelona at 20 years old without much experience.
"He has to be conscious of what he really wants in life. He has to know where he is playing and with whom he is playing," Vidal told L'Equipe.
"Personally, I think he will evolve. Ousmane is a footballer with crazy talent. When he reaches maturity, he will be an important player for Barcelona and France.
"But of course, he has to mature," he stressed.
Vidal feels that Dembele's improvement can only happen if he makes football the top priority in his life.
"[Dembele needs to] listen to his body and be better prepared to avoid injuries.
"If you want to be the best, you need to get up, eat and go to bed thinking about football.
"I think Ousmane will realise at some point that he has to do more."
Vidal also spoke about another French teammate at Barcelona, summer signing Antoine Griezmann.
"Griezmann is a great footballer, one of the best in the world.
"He makes quick decisions, understands everything and can score with great ease.
"When the talents of Leo [Messi], Luis Suarez, Dembele and Griezmann merge, we will do a lot of damage," he stated.
