Umtiti: It's been a difficult season but I'm staying at Barcelona
Atesting 2018/19 season hasn't been enough to make Samuel Umtiti leave Barcelona this summer.
The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order thanks to the emergence of Clement Lenglet since his arrival, but Umtiti has no plans to find his way out.
"I've had a difficult season but I have a contract and I'm happy at Barcelona," he said to RTL.
"Next season I'll be at Barcelona."
Injuries played their part this year for the defender, and when fit he never quite managed to find his best form, playing just 15 times throughout the campaign.
Antoine Griezmann could join Umtiti at the Camp Nou, but he was adamant that he knew nothing about his compatriot's next move.
"It's a good question whether he'll be at Barcelona next season or not," he said.
"The truth is that I haven't heard anything in the dressing room from Griezmann. Maybe he discussed it when I wasn't there."
Both Umtiti and Griezmann played for France on Saturday as they lost 2-0 to Turkey.
